The partially complete North Transept,
including the gift shop and all its stock, was destroyed.
Two of the twelve priceless
Barberini tapestries were severely damaged.
These pages are unofficial and not affiliated in any way with the
Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City. When I lived in
New York City, I attended some services and concerts at The Cathedral and
attempted to purchase all of the available recordings for my
collection. Since I left New York in 1981, I have attempted from time
to time to stay current on the recordings made at The Cathedral. There have
been several excellent recordings released in the past few years and that
has convinced me to publish this partial discography. Please email me any
updates or corrections.
The Cathedral sells recordings directly. Please contact:

You may phone your order in at 212/222-7200. They take major credit

Please mention to them you saw it on my web pages. Thanks! (I get no
money for this. This discography is something I wanted to do and make
part of the public record.)

Editorial Comment: Dorothy was a improvisation student of Dr.
Gerre Hancock who is considered one of the all time greats. She does her
mentor justice on this recording. I did not get this recording until
recently and I am overwhelmed by its beauty. Portions of the proceeds from
the sale of this and all recordings go to the organ restoration fund.
Please consider purchasing this recording.

Christmas albums. I've had the LP since 1975 and treasure it. I am
very pleased to see this re-released on CD on the 'Vanguard
Classics' label. I got my copies from the Cathedral Shop, but it might
be available through any record store. Although the original recording was
done in 1974, it is still very clean and good sounding.
