Essential Joan Baez, The: From the Heart - Live - A&M
Records/Polydor K.K., Japan POCM-1524; 1976 A&M Records/Karussell Ltd., Spectrum
Music 550 129-2 Germany; 1976 include the same tracks as From Every Stage
(75021 6506 2) which was released on A&M in the USA in 1976 as well. The
Essential disc's program order starts off with "The Electric Tracks" which is all
of Disc Two of the From Every Stage set. The order is 9-10-4-5-6-1-2-3-8-7.
The Essential disc continues with "The Acoustic Tracks" and these are
included on From Every Stage's Disc One. The included ones are (in order):
3-5-6-9-4. Missing from the Essential disc are: "(Ain't Gonna Let Nobody) Turn
Me Around," "Blessed Are," "Stewball," "Natalia," and "Joe Hill."

A&M Classics, Volume 8 and
Imagine are two identical compilation releases. They are a subset of
A&M's Greatest Hits (31454 0510-2) which was digitally remastered. The
only reason to get one of the two earlier releases is that "Forever Young" is the
single version with a nicer string accompaniment. Fuss's book does not indicate this,
but it is in fact the case. The last three cuts are added for Greatest Hits:
"Ballad of Sacco and Vanzetti," "Oh Happy Day," and "Less Than The Song."
